Les Wines

We source fruit from Cowan Vineyards in Eastern Washington, and Oracle Vineyards in the Dundee Hills, Oregon, to produce about 75 cases a year. Those wines usually include:

  • Le Peugeot, a top-secret blend of Cab, Cab Franc, and Merlot
  • Deux-Chevaux, an equally top secret blend of Cab Franc and Merlot
  • La Piquette (code named “the Pinto”), a second wine made from the dregs of Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Cabernet Franc
  • Merlot
  • Pinot Noir

All wines are aged about a year in 1-3 year old French oak, except Le Peugeot, which we give a little extra time to think things over before bottling it at the 18-month mark. Last year, we tried out a cool new Oregon Oak barrel from Oregon Barrel Works, aged three years out in the elements as French oak is. For the 2006 vintage, we tried it on the Cab and the Merlot, and true to form, it delivers spice without vanillin: verrrry interesting on the Cab, and surprisingly appropriate for the Merlot.
