A full throttle Sangio, but for now, oak too dominant

The nose is a little closed right now, but it’s still lovely – vibrant but lush, with dried cocoa and cherry. That said, it’s a little compromised by too much oak in the nose right now. Lots of flavor, tannin and acidity, firing at once like a gattling gun. Nevertheless, for now it’s the tannin and acidity (and oak) that dominate the flavor, leaving the fruit in the background. Great long finish, but maybe a little empty in the mid (again due to the oak, I’d guess). 3.59pH. I’m pretty confident the oak will descend into and integrate with the wine, but for now, the oak is too dominant, making it a little awkward overall. Try in 2017.
