Bottling: 2023 Viognier, Rosé, and Peugeot
NOTE: all hands on deck for this important event: all Garagistes must attend!
For Bottling #1 in 2024, I decided to try a scheduling change. Usually we do this bottling mid-April, but I thought I’d make it a bit earlier this year to see if that means our V and RF are drinkable sooner in the summer.
So we’ll be bottling our Viognier and Cab Franc Rosé, but also our 2022 Peugeot.
As is our time-honored custom, we’ll have 3 basic crews:
- Upstairs labeling and boxing
- Downstairs bottling and corking
- Runners ferrying full cases and cleaning variables as necessary
- (and maybe a cooking crew?)
Potluck
Please bring a dish to share, and if you can help cook a Main, please let me know!
With luck, it won’t be raining and may even be warm-ish, but we’ll decide on the day whether we’ll eat inside or out.
Please use the comments below to tell everyone what dish you plan on bringing. If you don’t know right now, that’s fine, but please log back in to this event and leave a note here when you do.
For this event:
- Please bring a mask. You may not have to use it, but it’ll be good to have as a backup.
- Assume 2-3 hours of bottling mania, followed by celebration
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring clothing you can get a little winey
- Bring a side dish or dish to share at the potluck immediately following bottling
- Do you have folding chairs we can borrow? Let Matt know.
- Please make plans to take away your shares on this night or the day after!

Bringing:
Roasted vegetable dish and liquid from Provence
I’ll probably bring a simple chickpea, cilantro, shallot, lemony vinaigrette dish (‘cause I’m looking around and that’s what I have and can put together in a jiff).
I will likely make a corn side dish.
Pasta Salad!
I’m going to be there! Woo hoo! I can’t do much cooking today, but at least I will bring bread and something to put on it.
